Stormlight

Stormlight
Breckenridge, Colorado

The first fresh snowfall of the season had dusted the high peaks above Breckenridge when a break in the storm let the rising sun spill across the mountains. For a few brief moments, warm alpenglow kissed the snow-covered ridges while heavy clouds still hung over the valley.

The contrast between cold storm light and warm sunrise color gives the scene its tension — steel-blue mountains, fresh snow, glowing slopes, and a sky that still feels unsettled.

A fleeting moment between storm and sunrise, when the mountains seemed to catch fire before the light disappeared again.
